Driving ability
Develop your own driving to the consistent standard expected of somebody preparing to teach others.
Explore ADI Part 2 →Marcus Astle is a DVSA ORDIT-registered driving instructor trainer providing practical, one-to-one support for ADI Part 2, Part 3 and Standards Check preparation.
Marcus qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor in 2015 at the age of just 21, making him one of the youngest ADIs in the UK at the time.
Since then, he has developed from teaching learner drivers into training the next generation of driving instructors. Marcus went on to complete the ORDIT assessment and become a DVSA ORDIT-registered instructor trainer.
He continues to attend instructor-training seminars and professional development events to keep his knowledge of ADI Part 3, Standards Checks and modern driver training up to date.
Instructor training is not Marcus's only contact with driving lessons. He continues to teach learner drivers within the family-run driving school.
That matters because Part 3 and Standards Check training are about what happens in real lessons with real pupils. Marcus remains directly involved in the same situations the instructors he trains will face themselves.
Marcus works within the family-run Andrew's Driving School, alongside his dad, Andrew.
Andrew has been an Approved Driving Instructor for around 20 years, giving the business a long-standing background in learner driver and instructor training.
Today, Andrew's Driving School remains the main home for the complete instructor-training programme, while Instructor Instructor gives Marcus a dedicated place to provide independent training and detailed ADI guidance.

Standards Check guidance →Good instructor training should help you understand what is happening in a lesson rather than teach you a collection of phrases for test day.
Marcus focuses on helping instructors recognise what their pupil needs, manage risk appropriately and choose teaching strategies that genuinely help learning happen.
